Four Hawks have received recognition from the coaches following a close contest on Easter Monday against Geelong.

Despite the seven-point loss, Jai Newcombe (four votes), Karl Amon (three votes), Jack Gunston (two votes) and Lloyd Meek (one vote) all polled coaches' votes for their performances.

Newcombe led the way for the Hawks in the midfield with 28 disposals, nine tackles, six marks and four clearances.

Amon was again damaging off the half-back line, recording game-highs in disposals with 29 (90 per cent efficiency) and metres gained with 802.

The 29-year-old also had a team-high seven inside 50s and took five marks.

Up forward, Gunston kicked an equal team-high three goals to go with a game-high eight marks and 16 disposals.

In the ruck, Meek battled hard all day with 47 hit-outs, 19 disposals, seven clearances and four score involvements.
