Hawthorn Football Club and The Inclusion Project are delighted to join forces with Variety - the Children’s Charity of Victoria.
Variety – the Children’s Charity of Victoria has come on board to support the Hawks’ upcoming Inclusion Match against Melbourne at the MCG in Round 23.
As part of this important collaboration, Variety will also support Hawthorn’s game-day sensory spaces at the MCG and UTAS Stadium. These spaces, run under the club’s ‘The Inclusion Project’ banner, ensure everyone has a safe and supportive place to enjoy the footy.
Hawthorn stars Luke Breust, Changkuoth Jiath (who won last year’s Tom Hafey Variety Heart of Football Award) and Josh Weddle were on hand to celebrate the new collaboration, as well as Variety’s 50th birthday in Australia, by building 50 bikes for 50 kids at Marvel Stadium last week.

Hawthorn CEO Ash Klein said:
“We are thrilled to welcome Variety to the Hawks to support our Inclusion Match and our game-day sensory spaces, run under our industry-leading Inclusion Project banner.
“Excitingly, we get to build on an existing connection to the children’s charity, with our very own Changkuoth Jiath winning last year’s Tom Hafey Variety Heart of Football Award for his amazing work within the South Sudanese community.
“As a club, we pride ourselves on making the footy a safe and supportive space for everyone, which is why The Inclusion Project’s high-quality sensory spaces, run by qualified occupational therapists, are so important and impactful.
“With Variety’s support of this initiative, along with our upcoming Inclusion Match, we look forward to continuing our community impact in the inclusion space for years to come.”
