Isaac Smith
Returning to the side after a three-week injury lay-off, Smith will be chomping at the bit to make an impact for the Hawks on Saturday night. The wingman is an integral part of the team’s dynamic when up and going, with his ability to provide a connection between the back and forward lines. Averaging 21 possessions from his seven appearances this season, an Isaac Smith with fresh legs is a dangerous proposition for any opposition side.
Shaun Burgoyne
Superstars don’t stay down for long. And when you are of the ilk of Shaun Burgoyne, that is most certainly the case. Burgoyne had a relatively quiet game by his standards in last week’s win over his former side, so expect the 364-game gun to come out firing at the Gabba.
Tim O’Brien
Seemingly growing in confidence with every outing, Tim O’Brien looks at home inside the Hawks back six. O’Brien was a stand-out last week for his side with his athleticism and pin-point kicking well and truly on show. With the key forward duo of Eric Hipwood and Dan McStay awaiting the Hawks defensive line in Brisbane, O’Brien will again be relied upon for a strong game this weekend.

Dayne Zorko
One of the game’s best two-way midfielders, Zorko’s efforts this season have gone somewhat under the radar with the inclusion of Lachie Neale into the Lions midfield mix. While Neale has been the dominant ball-getter for the sixth-placed side so far this year, Zorko leads the league in goal assists, pressure acts, tackles inside 50 and inside 50s.
Harris Andrews
One player who certainly doesn’t get the wider credit that he deserves, Andrews is arguably the Lions most valuable player. A brick wall in his side’s defence, the Hawks would be doing a good thing by avoiding Andrews’ airspace on Saturday.
