Defeated by Essendon by 19 points

After sticking with the Bombers for the first half, the Hawks went down to Essendon by 19 points on Friday night at Marvel Stadium.
The two sides kicked the same number of goals in the first, second and final quarter, meaning a five-goal-to-two third quarter from Essendon was the difference.
Big Boy Ben McEvoy was in fine form in his first game back from injury with 25 hit outs, 15 disposals and a sensational goal from a set shot.
Jarman Impey was the side’s only multiple goal scorer with two majors, eight marks and 24 disposals.

Defeated by Essendon by 10 points
Ladder position: 9th
Jackson Ross continued his outstanding form for Box Hill on Saturday afternoon, however it wasn’t enough to get his team over the line with the Hawks going down by 10 points to the Bombers at Windy Hill.
The forward kicked four first half goals in a match where the lead changed on multiple occasions.
Two quick goals by Essendon’s Irving Mosquito and Jordan Houlihan mid-way through the final quarter secured the win for the Bombers.
Harry Morrison was named best on ground for Box Hill with 26 disposals and Marc Pittonet dominated the ruck with a huge 50 hit outs.
VFLW
Defeated Essendon by 36 points
Ladder position: 7th
Hawthorn’s VFLW team played some of their best footy of the year on the weekend when they defeated Essendon by 36 points.
The Hawks booted seven-goals-to-one in the first half with small forward Olivia Flanagan continuing her good form with three goals to her name.
Hawthorn had six individual goal scorers including Jordan Membrey who impressed in her debut game in the brown and gold.
The Hawks were outscored in the second half but held on to beat the Bombers by six goals making in three wins from their last three matches.
Netball
Championship ladder position: 8th
Division 1 ladder position: 3rd
Under 19 ladder position: 5th
Hawks Netball played against Casey in Round 12 of the Victorian Netball League last Wednesday.
The club walked away with two wins out of their three matches with their Division 1 side defeating Casey by 24 goals and the Under 19s winning by 12 goals.
Unfortunately, the Championship division team were unable to complete the hattrick, losing to Casey by 9 goals.
The Division 1 team is now in finals contention having moved into third place on the ladder.
Wheelchair
Defeated Essendon by 31 points
Ladder position: 5th
Hawthorn’s VWFL side celebrated their first ever win in the club’s history when they defeated Essendon by 31 points on Sunday morning.
At three-quarter time the Hawks had a one-point lead, however a six-goal final quarter put the win beyond doubt.
The win will go down in history books as the club’s first victory and the team belted out the club’s theme song for the first-time post-match.
