Hawthorn will face the Greater Western Sydney GIANTS at Spotless Stadium in Round 6, 2016.

The Hawks' twilight match against the GIANTS will take place on Saturday 30 April at 4.35pm.

The last time the two teams met the GIANTS upset Hawthorn, running away to a 10-point win in front of 13,556 fans, the third-largest crowd ever seen at Spotless Stadium.

Hawthorn will open their 2016 season in the blockbuster Easter Monday clash against Geelong at the MCG, the AFL confirmed recently.

On Wednesday, it was revealed the Hawks will take on the Lions at the Gabba Round 10 as part of the AFL's revamped Indigenous Round named in honour of Aboriginal icon Sir Doug Nicholls.

The game is scheduled for Saturday 28 May, kicking off at 1.45pm (local time).

This will be the first time since 2008 the Hawks have played at the Gabba, when a young up and coming Hawthorn side beat the hardened veterans of Brisbane Lions by 12 points in Round 5.

It was announced on Tuesday that the Hawks will play Carlton (Aurora Stadum), Richmond (Holm Park Recreation Reserve, Beaconsfield) and North Melbourne (Etihad Stadium, Gold Coast) in the 2016 NAB Challenge.

The entire AFL fixture will be released on Thursday 29 October with full coverage on hawthornfc.com.au.
