1. Dan Hannebery (Sydney)
Sydney midfielder Dan Hannebery is having a stellar 2015 season.
The 24-year-old leads the Swans for disposals and inside-50s – and is ranked third for clearances – proving his influence in the middle of the ground and in driving his side into attack.
Hannebery averages 30.9 disposals per game this season and the Hawks will be desperate to limit his influence on the contest.
However, Hannebery is just one star in a midfield group that includes the likes of Josh Kennedy, Luke Parker and Kieren Jack.
2. Liam Shiels (Hawthorn)
Sam Mitchell, Jordan Lewis and Luke Hodge have attracted plenty of attention for their efforts this season – but Liam Shiels keeps flying under the radar of opposition teams.
Shiels is averaging 22.3 disposals per game and leads the Hawks for tackles – he’s laid 82 in 11 games, 15 more than any other player at the club.
Over the past three weeks, the 24-year-old has collected 85 disposals – 28 against Essendon, 29 against Collingwood and 28 against Fremantle last week – proving his importance as a ball-winner in the midfield.
3. Lewis Jetta (Sydney)
Lewis Jetta’s ability to break the lines will be important to the Swans’ chances of beating the Hawks for the second time this season.
With fellow speedster Gary Rohan on the sidelines, Jetta is the man who can break a game open for the Swans.
The 26-year-old has played all 14 games this year and averages 19.1 disposals per match.
Jetta is ranked third at the Swans for inside-50s and second for goal assists.
4. Josh Gibson (Hawthorn)
Hawthorn’s defence is one of the most experienced in the competition – and Josh Gibson’s form has been a key factor in the Hawks’ six consecutive wins.
The 31-year-old has had an outstanding 2015 season and was dominant across half-back against Fremantle last week.
Gibson is averaging almost 22 disposals per game.
He leads the Hawks for marks and one-percenters, and ranks fifth for rebound 50s.
With James Frawley out injured, Gibson will surely spend some time on…
5. Lance Franklin (Sydney)
…and fans of both the Hawks and the Swans will be keeping an eye on this tall forward.
The dual-premiership Hawk has 39 goals to his name for the Swans this season – however he was held scoreless against his former club in Round 8.
The 28-year-old Swans star needs two goals to reach 700 AFL career goals – and he’s been in strong form in front of goal of late.
Franklin has kicked 21.6 since the Round 8 clash against the Hawks.
