HAWTHORN defender Josh Gibson has accepted a $1500 sanction from the MRP.

Gibson accepted the fine for striking Carlton's Blaine Boekhorst in the first quarter of the Hawks' Round 17 clash with the Blues on Friday night.

The incident was classified by the MRP as intentional conduct with low impact to the body.

It was Gibson's second classified offence this season.
