HAWTHORN star Cyril Rioli has accredited his consistent 2015 to a strong pre-season.
The 26-year-old has played 18 of a possible 19 games this season and has kicked 32 goals, including a equal career-best six goals against Geelong on Saturday night.
"I feel being out there every week has definitely helped," Rioli said.
"Certainly the pre-season I had, I worked on a lot of my leg stuff. (I was) fully confident leading into the season. Just being out there week-to-week has given me a lot of confidence."
Rioli, who has spent more time up forward this season, said he was happy playing predominantly as a forward.
"I think I'll be a forward player my whole life," he said.
"I'm not too fussed. We have a lot of midfielders in there that can do the job so I am pretty happy to stay up forward and play my role for the team."
Rioli, who played his 150th game against the West Coast Eagles in Round 20, said the Hawks' loss to Richmond a fortnight ago had provided him with added motivation the past two weeks.
"I was happy to hit the scoreboard over the past few weeks, especially after the Richmond game," he said.
"I missed a few crucial goals and I was a bit hard on myself and I have been working on that over the last few weeks. It was definitely good to kick six straight."
