HAWTHORN’S Sam Grimley has won the Frosty Miller Medal for the VFL’s leading goalkicker for the second year running.

Grimley kicked one goal in Box Hill Hawks’ loss to Williamstown yesterday, taking his season tally to 42 majors.

It was enough to draw him level with Richmond’s Liam McBean and Port Melbourne’s Jordan Lisle, who also finished the home-and-away season with 42 goals.

The 24-year-old forward was one of just two players to play all 18 home-and-away matches for Box Hill this season.

Grimley kicked goals in 17 of those matches, with a season-high six against Geelong in Round 18.

He kicked three or more goals on six occasions.

Grimley finished last season with 45 goals from 18 matches (including finals) and tied for the 2014 Frosty Miller Medal with 38 goals in the home-and-away season, with then Port Melbourne player Daniel Connors.

He will have the opportunity to add to his tally in this year's VFL finals series.

The Hawks have finished on top of the VFL ladder, and will host Footscray in a qualifying final at Box Hill City Oval on Saturday at 2pm.
