HAWTHORN has made one more change to its playing list ahead of today’s first AFL list lodgement deadline.
Midfielder Jonathan Simpkin has been delisted, after three years as a Hawk.
The 2013 AFL premiership player featured in 33 matches as a Hawk, joining the club as a delisted free agent in 2012 after previously playing four matches for Geelong.
The 28-year-old managed just one game in 2015, as the substitute in Round 7, but starred at VFL level, winning Box Hill Hawks’ best and fairest award.
Recruiting and List Manager Graham Wright thanked Simpkin for his commitment and service to the club.
“Jonathan has achieved a great deal in his three years at the Hawks and departs as a 2013 AFL premiership player, 2013 VFL premiership player, 2013 Norm Goss Medallist and 2015 Col Austen Trophy winner,” Wright said.
“We thank him for his excellent contribution and wish him well in the future.”
