BRENDAN Whitecross' teammates talk about the role he plays for the Hawks.

After missing all of 2014 with a knee injury, the 25-year-old returned to action this year, playing four matches at AFL level.

With the ability to play through the midfield, across half back or half forward, Whitecross' flexibility has been on show predominantly at VFL level, where he has helped Box Hill win through to a grand final.
