Hawthorn has added four names to its extended squad ahead of Sunday’s clash with Richmond.
Hawks Isaac Smith (foot) and Chad Wingard (hamstring) won’t feature, with both sidelined for another week as they look to return to full fitness.
GM – Football Graham Wright said the club had ultimately opted for a conservative approach with the pair.
“Isaac and Chad both participated in training throughout the week, but neither were 100 per cent clear of their respective injury concerns,” Wright said.
“Given that we are only two months into a long season, we’ve decided not to take any risks.
“With another week of training under their belts, we’re hopeful both will be available for selection in Round 10.”
Instead, the quartet of Conor Glass, Kaiden Brand, Conor Nash and Teia Miles have been included in the Hawks squad of 26.
Nash (five games) and Brand (three) have already had a taste of senior action this year, while Glass and Miles are yet to make an appearance.
