Hawthorn midfielder Tom Scully could potentially make his debut in Hawks colours after being named in the extended squad set to face the Western Bulldogs.

If Scully is to take the field this week, it will mark exactly a year since he injured his ankle against Collingwood in Round 2 last season.

Following his arrival at the club in October, the Hawthorn faithful have been eagerly anticipating the former Giant’s return.

GM – Football Graham Wright said Scully’s return to the squad is on the back of a lot of hard work from the midfielder.

“Since arriving at the club, Tom has left no stone unturned in his pursuit of a return to the playing field,” Wright said.

“We will see how he goes in tomorrow’s final training session before making the call tomorrow night.”

The final team of 22 will be announced at 5pm on Friday.

Dylan Moore is also a chance of making his debut, having been named alongside Scully on the extended interchange.

The youngster served as emergency against Adelaide, before returning to Melbourne and putting on a strong performance in Box Hill’s practice match.

Key position pair Mitch Lewis and Kaiden Brand have also been added to the 26-man squad and are a chance to play their first game of 2019.
