We’ve asked Physical Performance Manager Luke Boyd to nominate five players that have impressed him over the course of the pre-season.
Some are yet to debut, others have had multiple visits to the top of the game’s mountain, all have a point to prove when it comes to a pre-season campaign.
Year upon year James Sicily has made marked improvements to his game.
Now entering his sixth year in the system, that trend doesn’t look like fading any time soon.
Physical Performance Manager Luke Boyd believes Sicily has been one of the highlights of the Hawks’ summer.
“Sis has barely missed a beat this pre-season,” Boyd said.
“His training consistency across the summer has gone to another level.
“His ability to apply himself has been first class.”

With 60 senior games under his belt, the 24-year-old is quickly emerging as a senior figure within the Hawks line-up and Boyd says that is reflected in his pre-season performance.
“Sis is developing into a genuine leader within the group.
“He has built a great respect among his peers and he is now taking a real interest in the leadership side of things.”
