VFLW premiership player Sarah Perkins will be back again in 2019, having signed a new contract to return to the Hawks.
Re-committing to the club she grew up supporting, the talented forward said it was an easy decision putting pen to paper.
“I loved the season last year with the girls,” Perkins said.
“I’m a pretty loyal person, it feels like home here, so I’m happy to be back.”
The 25-year-old played an integral role in the club’s 2018 premiership journey; providing a strong target up forward, she booted 16 goals to finish fourth on the VFLW goal tally.
Reflecting on her 2018 campaign, Perkins said to come away with the flag was the ‘cherry on top’.
“My season last year ended pretty well.
“It was very up and down with a few injuries here and there, but I thought it was a pretty good season across the board, especially finishing off the way we did.”
Looking ahead to the 2019 season, Perkins’ main goal is simple:
“Going back to back would be nice, but I guess that’s a bit too soon to say.
“I’m just keen to get back around the girls and get started.”
The Hawks will kick off their VFLW premiership defence next Sunday 12th May, taking on fellow 2018 finalists the NT Thunder at Box Hill City Oval.
