Where and When: Williamstown at Box Hill City Oval, 1st June at 11:30am.
Round 9, 2018, Hawthorn and Williamstown had a fight to the finish, in which Hawthorn made it just over the line by a mere four points.
The Hawks were fighting for the lead the whole day, after a slow start that saw Williamstown 16 points ahead at the first break. With the help of multiple goals from both Liv Flanagan and Rebecca Beeson, the Hawks were able to claim the lead seconds before the final siren, resulting in a massive come-from-behind win.
This Saturday will see Hawthorn host the Seagulls at Box Hill City Oval in a doubleheader for the two clubs.
Williamstown will be looking to get their first win of the season with help from players such as Jasmine Kawa and Rebecca Dardengo.

Kawa is one of Williamstown’s biggest recruits for this season. The 19-year old was out in 2018 due to a knee reconstruction but has already proved herself, being named best on ground last week against Casey. In this debut game for the Seagulls, she had 10 disposals and kicked the only two goals for her side.
Rebecca Dardengo was an addition to the Williamstown backline in 2018 and had an impressive season. Hawthorn are well aware of the impact Dardengo can make on a game, having had a career-best performance against them in the Round 9 clash last season.
Hawthorn will be bolstered this week by the return of a few familiar faces including Phoebe McWilliams, Sarah Perkins and Lou Wotton.
McWilliams has been sitting on the sidelines the last three weeks, due to injury, so she will be eager to get back out on the ground. The Seagulls won’t be surprised by the talent of the forward, who was a huge part of the Hawks premiership winning side and is an experienced AFLW player.
Rebecca Beeson will certainly be another Hawks player on Williamstown’s watch-list, having been a huge part of Hawthorn’s win against them last season. Beeson kicked two goals in the dying moments of the game to get the Hawks over the line. In her season debut last week against Darebin, she was back to where she left off, racking up 17 disposals and six clearances.
Williamstown will be hungry for the four points, with the side yet to get a win on the board. But coming off a big win against Darebin last week, Hawthorn will be the team to beat come Saturday.
