Hardwick had 100 exits from defensive 50 compared to 50 last year, the second most of a Hawthorn player behind only James Sicily.
The 22-year-old also had his highest average disposals of his career averaging 17.4 a game.
Hardwick also changed the way he used the ball choosing to kick more often than handball.
The majority of his disposals were kicks (11.7), compared to handballs (5.6), giving him a kick to handball ratio of 2.1. In 2018 his kick to handball ratio was 1.3 and the year before it was 1.4.
His season saw him named in the AFL Players’ Associations squad of 22Under22.
