Mathew Walker arrived at the Hawks with Pick 63 in the 2018 NAB AFL Draft.
The 188cm forward has a strong overhead mark and impressive skills on both sides of his body.
Walker didn’t get the opportunity to show these skills at AFL level this season, but had a solid year in the brown and gold, playing 15 games for Box Hill.
Throughout his 2019 in the VFL, he kicked 23 goals and averaged 14 disposals, with his best performance occurring in Round 18 against North Melbourne, where he registered 15 possessions and was dominant in front of goals, kicking four majors.
The 19-year-old’s first season at the Hawks was a promising start and his 2020 will not doubt be even bigger.
