Hawks midfielder Jaeger O’Meara has hit back at public criticism towards the team following its win over GWS on the weekend.
Wayne Carey labelled the Hawthorn game style “boring” whilst speaking on Channel Seven’s Talking Footy on Monday night.
But it was feedback that O’Meara was quick to dismiss.
“If we did look boring on the weekend, then I’m happy to be boring because we had a really good win,” the in-form midfielder said at a press conference on Tuesday.
“I thought we implemented the plan that we went into against GWS really well.”

Despite being bullish about the side’s Round 8 performance, O’Meara conceded it was difficult to get a read on the Hawks so far this season given their inconsistent form.
“It’s hard to get a read on any teams in the competition at the moment to be honest.
“But I think when we bring that energy and spirit like we did against Adelaide in Round 1 and then again on the weekend, I think we can match it with anyone.
“It’s just the ups and downs throughout the games and week-to-week that we’re struggling with a little bit at the moment.
“So hopefully we can bring that again this week against Richmond.”
