“With public transport works planned throughout the entire 2019 football season, footy fans should check the Public Transport Victoria website to see if any of the upgrade works will impact their trip to the game,” Mr Auld said.

“It is important fans check the PTV website prior to each game they are attending, as disruptions may change from match to match.”

Public Transport Victoria CEO Jeroen Weimar said planning ahead was pivotal to ensuring a smooth journey.

“We encourage footy fans to check if their line is affected by any works and allow extra travel time if the match they are attending is impacted,” Mr Weimar said.

“Replacement buses will be provided to ensure everyone can get to and from matches and we will have extra staff on the ground to help passengers know where to go.”

Fans should visit the News and Events page on the PTV website
for more information and to plan their journey.
