GWS Giant Rebecca Beeson was again a stand-out performer in Round 3 of the AFLW on the weekend.
Eight Hawthorn VFLW premiership players were in action, with Beeson’s 17 disposals, three marks and four tackles the highlight.
Only nine players across the competition have recorded more touches than Beeson so far this season, who is averaging 17.7 possessions through the opening three rounds.
But Beeson, alongside Pepa Randall (five disposals and three tackles), was unable to get her side over the line as Carlton earned top spot in their conference with their first win of the year.

Blue Jayde Van Dyk was among the victor’s best players as she tallied 10 disposals, three marks and four tackles to continue her promising debut season.
Three former Hawks were in action at Norwood Oval as Adelaide hosted Geelong in an important clash.
Cat Phoebe McWilliams continued her goal-a-game form, finishing with one major to go with her seven disposals, four marks and one tackle, while teammate Julia Crockett-Grills furthered her reputation as one of the league’s best defensive players, recording five tackles, seven disposals and two marks.
But it was Sarah Perkins’ Crows who proved too strong for the visitors. Perkins herself was quiet though, registering two disposals, one mark and two tackles.
Over in the west, it was a tough day for Collingwood and Mikala Cann as Fremantle restricted the Pies to just two goals for the day in their 33-point win.
But Cann could travel home holding her head high as she laid six tackles to remain only one tackle behind the league leaders Crow Ebony Marinoff and Docker Kiara Bowers on the year.
Finally, down at University of Tasmania Stadium, Bulldog Emma Mackie’s strong performance was also not enough to get her team the four points against the dominant Kangaroos.
Mackie had a strong all-round game though, registering eight disposals, three marks, five tackles and one goal.
