Five Hawks were selected in AFL Victoria’s Teams of the Week for their performances over the weekend.
In the VFL Box Hill’s James Cousins and Oliver Hanrahan were named in the midfield and in the forward pocket respectively.
Cousins was a stand-out for the Hawks gathering a game-high 32 disposals in his first game in the VFL this year.
Hanrahan was Box Hill’s most damaging forward kicking three-goals-one and collecting 18 disposals.
In the VFLW three players made the Team of the Week for the second consecutive week.
Talia Radan was once again named at full back, Phoebe McWilliams at centre half forward and Pip Peschke on the interchange.
Radan often found herself on the last line of defence against the Southern Saints on the weekend, making up part of the strong Hawks defence that limited their opposition’s chances up forward.
McWilliams played on the wing and up forward where she kicked the Hawks first goal of the game in the fourth quarter.
Peschke battled hard all day in what was a hard slog in wet conditions, gathering 17 disposals and laying eight tackles.
The two sides play their next matches this Saturday.
In the VFLW, Hawthorn play Footscray at Whitten Oval at 12pm and in the VFL, Box Hill take on Casey at Casey Fields at 2pm.
