Scrimshaw arrived at the Hawks following two seasons at the Gold Coast.
In his time at the Suns, the left-footer was only able to string together four games after a disappointing run with injury.
Scrimshaw would have been thrilled to have played nine of the Hawk’s first 10 games in 2019.

The 21-year-old showed glimpses of what’s to come with his thrilling run and dash that saw him taken at pick seven in the 2016 draft.
Scrimshaw averaged 16 disposals in his first nine games and his match against the Saints in Round 4 was his best collecting 23 disposals and taking eight marks.
Unfortunately, the defender suffered a knee injury in a tackling incident in the club’s Round 10 clash with Port Adelaide.
Originally diagnosed as a four to six week injury, his rehab took longer than expected and Scrimshaw spent nine weeks on the sidelines.
Scrimshaw made his return through the VFL playing three games at Box Hill before being promoted to the senior side for their Round 23 clash with the West Coast Eagles.
An injury-free pre-season will see Scrimshaw return to the Hawks with confidence in 2020.
