The oldest listed player in the competition in 2018, Shaun Burgoyne continued to prove a player of extreme value to the Hawks.
The veteran notched up his 350th game in Round 13 against Adelaide, becoming just the 16th player in the game’s history to surpass the incredible milestone.
But Burgoyne’s best game of the season came in Round 11 against his former side Port Adelaide when he helped the Hawks to a three-point win with his 26 disposals (16 contested possessions), six marks, eight clearances and a goal.
Although, amazingly, the umpires couldn’t fit the 35-year-old in their Brownlow votes despite his clearance and contested possession numbers being game-highs.
Burgoyne will enter his 18th season in 2019 with more impressive milestones in sight, including his seventh game of the season taking him into the top ten for all-time games played.
