Star midfielder Tom Mitchell is set to play his 100^th AFL game this Saturday when the Hawks’ take on the Suns.

Originally drafted to Sydney in 2011 under the father-son selection, Mitchell played 65 games for the Swans before requesting a trade to Hawthorn at the end of 2016.

Since his transition to the Hawks, it is clear Mitchell has stepped out of his father Barry’s shadow and established himself as one of the fiercest midfielders in the competition today.

2017 proved the star's greatest season to date where he recorded career high average clearances (6.3), contested possessions (14.8) and uncontested possessions (21.5), and sealed the season with his first All Australian guernsey and a Peter Crimmins Medal.

In 2018, the 25-year-old has continued his prolific ball winning ways, kicking off the season with a record breaking 54-disposal haul against Collingwood. 

Tough, consistent and competitive, Mitchell has established himself as a dominant inside mildfielder and currently leads the race for the 2018 Brownlow Medal.

A humble and valued player amongst his teammates, Mitchell looks to have a long career ahead of him in the brown and gold.
