We’ve been keeping a close eye on our signed Hawthorn women as they play out the AFLW season with their respective clubs.
There are currently three AFLW-listed women on Hawthorn’s list for the 2018 VFLW, with more to come.
See how each of the girls performed over the weekend in Round 6 of the AFLW.
Phoebe McWilliams (GWS)
Phoebe McWilliams went goalless for just the second time this year, as GWS defeated the ladder-leading Western Bulldogs by 18 points.
The 31-year old key forward had seven disposals, two marks and one tackle in her side’s important victory.
With the upset win, a Grand Final spot is there for the taking for the third-placed Giants who meet last year’s runners up, the Brisbane Lions, in Sydney on Friday night.
The Giants will be hoping McWilliams, who has kicked seven goals for the year, rediscovers her outstanding form and helps to catapult her club into an historic Grand Final berth.
Rebecca Beeson (GWS)
Rebecca Beeson again proved an important cog in her side’s line-up, as the Giants extended their unbeaten run to four weeks.
The 20-year old was one of the Giants leading ball-getters, collecting 11 possessions, three marks and two tackles on Saturday night.
Beeson’s average of 11 possessions per game this season ranks fourth amongst her teammates, which is impressive considering the NSW product has spent her time almost exclusively in the forward line this AFLW season.
Emma Mackie (WB)
Emma Mackie played her third game of the season on Saturday night as she continues to find a spot in the best 22 of the top-of-the-table Bulldogs side.
Mackie has now played three games for the Bulldogs this season and, after missing the games from Round 2 to 4, has now re-emerged in the side at the right time of the year. She collected four disposals and laid two tackles in the Bulldogs' loss to GWS.
The Bulldogs face off against the Demons this weekend in a do-or-die clash that will see the winner guarantee themselves a Grand Final berth, while the loser’s season will likely be over.
Bec Privitelli (GWS)
The VFLW Hawks’ newest signing, Bec Privitelli, was unable to find a spot in the Giants’ line-up against the Dogs on the weekend.
Despite not playing for the Giants since her debut for the club in Round 1, Privitelli is an exciting signing for the Hawks, and proved herself at AFLW level last year playing five games for the Blues.
