Young wingman Harry Morrison says the Hawks have great belief in what they can achieve in 2018 after their imposing 56-point win over Adelaide on Saturday night.

The Hawks kicked seven goals to none in a dominant third-term display to set up the win, and now sit outside the eight on percentage only, with Morrison admitting anything is possible should the Hawks qualify for finals.

“I think we’ve got plenty of potential, we saw on the weekend what we can do so hopefully we’ll sneak into the top eight and anything’s possible from there,” Morrison told Macquarie Sports Radio on Tuesday.

“So we’re really hopeful for the year.”

The side’s impressive performance came as no surprise to Morrison who admitted the group looked particularly ominous on the night, even well before the first bounce.

“I think it nearly started in our warm-up,” he said

“It was probably one of the loudest warm-ups I’ve been a part of.

“But the energy was right up there and we had a real focus on pressure.”

Teammate James Sicily was also a standout for the Hawks on Saturday night, kicking three long range goals in the third quarter, despite playing in defence, and finishing with 24 disposals and eight marks.

“He’s always having pot shots from 60-65 (metres out), in between drills and stuff, doing extras and that sort of thing,” Morrison revealed.

“He’s done a fair bit of work on it and its paying off now in games.”

Morrison meanwhile has played every game since Round 2 this year, averaging 15 disposals in just his second season at AFL level, with the 18-year-old crediting a solid preseason for his good form in 2018.

“Last year’s game, Round 23, gave me plenty of confidence dating back into preseason,” Morrison said.

“I had a really strong preseason and I think that’s held me in good stead so far this year being able to run out games and really find a spot in the side.”
