Hawthorn’s VFLW side has finalised preparations for its 2018 season with an imposing 82-point win over Richmond on Saturday.
Led by midfielder Julia Crockett-Grills, who was rated amongst the side’s best, the Hawks controlled proceedings from the get-go at Punt Road Oval as they sailed to an 11.22 (88) to 1.0 (6) victory.

Featuring plenty of their AFLW recruits, the Hawks had the ball trapped in their forward half for much of the contest in what was an impressive defensive effort, as they kept an undermanned Tigers side scoreless until late in the third term.
The win caps a perfect pre-season for the side after earlier wins over Carlton and the Southern Saints.
The Hawks now set their sights on a Round 1, when they will kick things off against Essendon on 6 May at Windy Hill.
