The latest on the trade rumour mill...
Relentless GWS midfielder Tom Scully looks set to be the club's latest sacrifice as it attempts to find a way out of its salary cap squeeze.
AFL.com.au understands Scully has told the Giants of his wish to return to Victoria and is keen to play for Hawthorn next year.
Rival clubs believe the deal will happen.
The 27-year-old has played 152 matches since being the No.1 pick in the 2009 AFL Draft, but a broken right ankle sustained against Collingwood in Round 2 restricted him to just one match this year.
GWS and his management vehemently denied any potential Scully move when AFL.com.au made enquiries in July.
Scully, who is from in Berwick in Melbourne's south-east, played his first two seasons for Melbourne before joining GWS on a $6 million, six-year deal at the end of 2011.
It is understood he recently bought land in the vicinity of where he grew up.
The dual All Australian squad member then signed a four-year contract extension in June 2016 to stay at the Giants until 2021.
It is believed Scully's latest deal is worth about half as much as his original contract to leave the Demons.
Scully's manager, Mark Kleiman, of TLA Australia, declined to comment.
Dylan Shiel (Essendon), Rory Lobb (Fremantle) and Will Setterfield (Carlton) are already set to depart GWS for other clubs in the NAB AFL Trade Period.
The Hawks narrowly missed out on trade targets Tom Lynch and Dylan Shiel, but are set for a big finish to the NAB AFL Trade Period.
Port Adelaide's dual All Australian Chad Wingard, who is contracted for 2019, nominated Hawthorn as his club of choice on Thursday.
Young Hawk Ryan Burton is reported to have been raised in initial negotiations for Wingard, along with the club's pick No.15.
Suns defender Jack Scrimshaw, the No.7 pick in the 2016 draft, has also been linked to Hawthorn.
