Since Champion Data became the AFL’s official statistician in 1999, more than 190 different categories of individual single match records have been documented.
Despite being the most successful team of the modern era, Hawthorn holds just nine of the current individual records, compared to the league average of 11.3 (not including Gold Coast or GWS who entered the competition some 12 and 13 respective years later).
However, not all of these records want to be held.
While the list included prized achievements such as the most goals or disposals in a single match, it also includes things like clangers, ineffective spoils, missed tackles and marks fumbled.
While Shaun Burgoyne would be proud of his record six smothers against Adelaide in 2015, Jordan Lewis would probably rather we keep quiet about his five ineffective ground kicks against the Dockers the year prior.
Here is a complete list of the single match records that Hawthorn players hold since 1999.
