Cyril Rioli is getting closer to an AFL return, with the star forward expected to resume play after next week's bye.

"He's edging closer," Director of High Performance Andrew Russell said on Tuesday afternoon.

"He's training fully. He just needs to get a couple of weeks of high intensity skills under his belt and we expect him to play after the bye."
