Rioli received a knock to the knee half way through the match and spent the remainder of the afternoon on the Hawks’ interchange bench.
“We had a really challenging day on the injury front,” Director of High Performance Andrew Russell said.
“Cyril has a moderate grade medial injury.
“It is on the same side as his PCL last year… but it’s not related at all.
“It looks like it’s probably in the five to six week range at this stage.
Puopolo limped off the ground clutching his hamstring during the third quarter of Sunday’s hit out and is set to miss at least a month of football.
“He’s probably pulled up a fraction better than we thought he would have,” Russell said.
“He’s got a decent hamstring strain and he’s going to miss four to six weeks.”
2017 draftee Dylan Moore will also be sidelined for approximately four weeks after fracturing his shoulder in Box Hill’s Round 2 win.
Shaun Burgoyne could also return as early as Round 6, having progressed steadily in his recovery from a hamstring injury.
