The Dockers are yet to finalise their leadership group due to some tweaks to their process following the arrival of 22 recruits over the past two off-seasons. The main talking points will be whether Freo decides to retain all three senior members Aaron Sandilands, David Mundy and Lee Spurr or looks to bring in some more new faces. Freo underwent significant changes last year, with Nat Fyfe taking over from Mundy as skipper while stars Lachie Nealeand Michael Walters were elevated to official leadership positions. - Travis King
The Cats are set to name their leadership group at next Friday's season launch, which will be held at GMHBA Stadium for the first time in three seasons. There are no suggestions that Joel Selwood won't retain the captaincy, with the inspirational skipper expected to skipper Geelong for a seventh-straight year. Geelong had eight members in its leadership group last season, with Harry Taylor and Patrick Dangerfield acting as joint vice-captains. Tom Hawkins, Mark Blicavs, Mitch Duncan, Cameron Guthrie and Scott Selwood were also in the group. It is understood the players are yet to vote for their leaders this season, but there will plenty of interest in whether star recruit Gary Ablett steps straight into a leadership role. His work with the young players and the instructional feedback he provides to teammates has been noted by those inside the club. - Ben Guthrie

The Giants will confirm their leadership group in the next fortnight, but Phil Davis and Callan Ward are certain to continue as co-captains for the seventh-straight season. Stephen Coniglio will continue as the sole vice-captain, with All Australians Josh Kelly and Dylan Shiel, and veteran defender Heath Shaw, to remain part of the group. The move of Devon Smith to Essendon means the Giants could add another player to the group. - Adam Curley

The Tigers are yet to confirm their leadership group for 2018, but any changes to the successful 2017 model would be a surprise. A streamlined three-man group was a raging success last season, with Trent Cotchin emerging as one of the best captains in the game and Alex Rance and Jack Riewoldt providing excellent support as vice-captains. Riewoldt flourished in the role after a prolonged absence, and superstar Dustin Martin could be a player the Tigers look to add if any change is made. The Tigers have confirmed their group in mid-March in recent seasons, through a player vote and consultation with football department staff, the club executive and a leadership consultant. - Nathan Schmook
