Kieran Lovell has put pen to paper signing a one-year contract extension to keep him at the club until the end of 2018.
The 20-year-old midfielder has played two games at AFL level since joining the club in 2015, with shoulder troubles overshadowing much of his 2017 season.
Despite these limited opportunities, the number 22 pick has showed promising signs at VFL level.
His best game for Box Hill came in Round 16 against Geelong, when he gathered 34 disposals, 16 of which were contested, nine clearances, nine inside 50s and seven tackles.
Hawthorn Recruiting and List Manager Graham Wright said:
“Kieran is a promising young midfielder who is tough in close and has a really strong ability to find the footy.
“While he has had a frustrating season in terms of injury, we are really excited to see what he can produce in the brown and gold in years to come.”
