Our VFL Women’s side has had their fair share of hard lessons in their maiden season. They have spent the week leading up to their Round 12 clash with Diamond Creek absorbing their latest learning curve after their missed opportunity against Geelong.
The Hawks came up against their traditional rivals in conditions marred by a strong wind. The Cats adjusted better at crucial stages and came away with a 14-point victory. For Box Hill, who were coming off back-to-back victories, the bitter burn of a chance to continue their climb up the ladder was keenly felt.
Box Hill will face a Diamond Creek side coming off just its second loss of the season when they hit the field at the Plenty War Memorial Reserve come 2pm Sunday. The Hawks went down to the Creekers by 38 points in Round 7 after being within striking distance at three quarter time.
Box Hill welcome back Chantella Perera after the key defender was a late withdrawal in Round 11. Her replacement Brodie Watts has been named in the starting 22 as has Grace Dillon. Kara Henderson will become the 36th VFLW Hawk after being named to debut off the bench while Adrianna Piva also stands a chance of breaking into the side for the first time after a long lay-off with injury.
Final teams announced prior to the bounce.
