Hawthorn has enlisted the services of former St Kilda and Sydney defender Sean Dempster, with the premiership player set to join the club in a strength and conditioning role.
Dempster, who has a degree in biomedicine, worked closely with St Kilda’s strength and conditioning team during his time at the club, to gather some insights and experience whilst completing his studies.
The new appointment will see the 33-year-old focus predominately on the Box Hill players.
Drafted to Sydney with Pick 34 in the 2002 National Draft, the Gippsland Power product played 54 games during his three seasons at the Swans, including the drought-breaking 2005 premiership.
Traded to the Saints ahead of the 2008 season, Dempster added a further 168 games to bring his career tally to 222, before calling time early in the 2017 season.

GM-Football Operations Jason Burt says the club is delighted to have secured the retiring Saint’s services.
“Sean built a career that spanned over 200 games and included a premiership and an All Australian selection (2012), so he certainly knows what it takes to make it at the elite level,” said Burt.
“His knowledge and experience, both from his time in the game and his exposure to strength and conditioning programs, will be incredibly valuable for our players.
“We’re really excited to bring a fresh outlook into our strength and conditioning team and are thrilled to have him on board.”
