All at Hawthorn Football Club send their heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Ken Feltscheer, who has passed away on Monday at the age of 102.
Feltscheer played 43 games for the Hawks between 1937 and 1943 and prior to that played four games for Melbourne between 1935 to 1936.
Feltscheer described himself as "a good average player" when speaking to The Age in 2015 after celebrating his 100th birthday.
"I was a half-forward or full-forward – I was pretty quick in those days,” he said.
One of nine children, Ken was brought up on the family farm near Moe. Playing as a forward for Neerim South, his speed and fine goal kicking form soon earned him a spot with Moe.
Ken became a Hawk (or a Maybloom as they were known in those days) in 1937. He played a total of 43 games and kicked 15 goals, playing his final game in 1943.
The Board of Directors, management, staff and players of Hawthorn Football Club wish to extend their sincerest sympathies to Ken’s family and friends.
