Luke Hodge has been charged with striking the Swans' Tom Papley during the second quarter of the Hawks' Round 19 clash.

As it is Hodge's third classifiable offence this season, he has been offered a one-match sanction with an early plea. Hodge had already accepted $1000 sanctions in Rounds 11 and 16 for engaging in rough conduct.

Based on the available video evidence and a medical report from the Swans, the incident was assessed by the MRP as careless conduct with low impact to the body.

If Hodge accepts the sanction, he will be unavailable to take on the Tigers this Sunday at the MCG.

Lance Franklin (Sydney) was also charged for making unnecessary contact to Hodge's face during a seperate incident. He can accept a $1500 sanction with an early plea.
