Each week is an opportunity for our fledgling women’s team. Each opportunity is a chance to build, to evolve and improve.
Last week the ladies were spirited in defeat, turning in their best performance of the season to date in the loss to St. Kilda on the back of slick ball movement and a growing understanding of coach Paddy Hill’s game plan.
The Hawks were in it up to their necks at the final change, but the Sharks showed their quality to win by a seemingly comfortable, yet slightly flattering 39 points.
This week’s challenge is Cranbourne, themselves yet to win in season 2017 and coming off their best effort of the year last week.
In near biblical rain the Eagles pushed the unbeaten Cats all the way, falling just short of a remarkable victory.
Clearly something has to give and one of the sides will sing the song for the first time, perhaps ever, when the final siren sounds on Sunday.
The match gets underway at 11am this Sunday at Box Hill City Oval.
Final teams to be announced prior to the bounce.
