Luke Breust (Hawthorn)
Luke Breust was a solid contributor last week in the Hawks’ loss to the Swans at the MCG, collecting 20 disposals at 90% efficiency as well as kicking a goal.
He also had three inside 50s and a goal assist, playing a role in the midfield as well as in the forward line.
The Hawks will be hoping Breust can continue his good form against the Lions.
Liam Shiels (Hawthorn)
Liam Shiels continued to bring his tackling pressure against the Swans, with seven tackles accompanying his 26 disposals and nine clearances.
The Hawks will look to Shiels and their other pressure specialists such as Paul Puopolo and Cyril Rioli to force Brisbane into turning the ball over on Saturday, and creating scoring opportunities.
Isaac Smith (Hawthorn)
Isaac Smith has gathered 25, 27 and 26 disposals in his last three games, and looks as though he is taking on more of an inside midfield role in the absence of Luke Hodge, starting in the first centre bounce against the Swans last week.
Smith’s elite endurance – and ability to transition the ball quickly - will be a real weapon for the Hawks this week in the warmer conditions of the Gabba in Brisbane, as he looks to continue his good form.
Dayne Zorko (Brisbane)
Dayne Zorko has been a shining light for Brisbane this season, being among their best players on a weekly basis and leading from the front in trying circumstances.
Zorko has kicked 13 goals in his eight games in 2016 along with averaging 23.5 disposals, while running through the Lions’ midfield and forward line.
Daniel Rich (Brisbane)
Daniel Rich has been a solid contributor for the Lions this season, particularly in the absence of Dayne Beams, which has seen him take on more responsibility in the midfield.
Rich’s raking left foot is a real weapon for the Lions, and the Hawks will need to pay him close attention because the Lions love getting the ball in his hands when going forward.
