HAWTHORN midfielder Liam Shiels will miss the next three to four weeks with a hamstring injury.
Shiels injured his hamstring in the first half of the Hawks’ win against Port Adelaide on Thursday night.
With a three-to-four-week recovery period, Shiels would be expected to return a couple of weeks ahead of this year’s finals series.
“It’s a no-risk approach,” GM – Football Operations Chris Fagan said.
“We were hopeful for a better result than that, but that’s not what the scan showed. He’s just got to do a rehab now and be right for a few weeks’ time.”
However, in a positive sign for the Hawks, fellow tough nut Will Langford will be available for selection this week after his recovery from a punctured lung.
GM – Football Operations Chris Fagan also talks about Ryan Schoenmakers, Jack Fitzpatrick, Matt Spangher, Alex Woodward and Jonathan O’Rourke in this week’s Bupa Recovery Report.
