THERE’s light at the end of the tunnel for Hawthorn forward Jack Fitzpatrick.
Fitzpatrick has not played at any level since suffering concussion after a collision with teammate Kurt Heatherley in a VFL match in mid-May, but could be ready to step up his training this week.
The first-year Hawk hasn’t had any luck with injury since crossing from Melbourne, sustaining a knee injury in the NAB Challenge before returning and sustaining concussion in just his fourth game back.
But GM – Football Operations Chris Fagan hopes Fitzpatrick’s luck is about to turn.
“He is getting better. He was much better this week. There is some light at the end of the tunnel," Fagan told the Herald Sun.
"He has been training but nothing too vigorous.
"He now needs to step up his training. We are not sure when he will play.
"But I spoke to him during the week and he was a bit more up and about. A definite change for the better."
