Hawthorn will celebrate a 15-year strong partnership with Tasmania this week, ahead of Saturday’s clash with Carlton at their home-away-from-home, Aurora Stadium.

To celebrate this milestone Hawthorn and the City of Launceston have partnered to bring fans a jam-packed afternoon of pre-game entertainment, kicking off at 1:20pm.

The afternoon will comprise of a special performance by X Factor winner Reece Mastin before the game and at half-time, along with a fireworks display and a giant guernsey unveiling.

Since its foundation in 2001, the Tasmania-Hawks partnership has gone from strength to strength.

Not only has Hawthorn broken their Tasmanian membership record consecutively since 2007, but in Round 14 they racked up their 18th straight win at Aurora Stadium.

Hawthorn Football Club President Richard Garvey was thrilled with how the 15-year celebration was panning out.

“Tasmanian’s have embraced the Hawthorn Football Club as their own and we are incredibly proud of the longevity of our partnership,” Garvey said.

“I look forward to seeing the celebration unfold with our open training session on Friday, our pre-game entertainment on Saturday, and of course, the main event that will follow; our clash with the Blues.”
