Jack Gunston (Hawthorn)

Gunston kicked one goal last week against the Kangaroos, but was otherwise well held by Robbie Tarrant for the second time in 2016.

The sharpshooter will want to get back to hitting the scoreboard more regularly against the Eagles this week, who he collected 21 disposals, nine marks and a goal against back in Round 2.

Isaac Smith (Hawthorn)

Smith was at his running best last week, collecting 33 disposals, 11 marks, seven tackles and six inside 50s in a dominant display against the Kangaroos.

Domain Stadium is a big ground, so Smith – along with Billy Hartung and Bradley Hill – will need to provide plenty of run and carry against West Coast.

Sam Mitchell (Hawthorn)

The star midfielder collected a game-high 37 touches last week, but looked as though he found most of them in the back half, registering 7 rebound 50s against the Kangaroos.

Mitchell amassed 37 touches against the Eagles in Round 2 this year and a repeat performance will be vital for the Hawks.

Luke Shuey (West Coast)

Shuey was clearly the Eagles’ best player last week against GWS, racking up 38 disposals, 13 clearances, six tackles and two goals in a sublime display.

He will be a huge threat in the midfield if that form continues this week, so the Hawks will need to pay him close attention.

Nic Naitanui (West Coast)

Naitanui was the hero last week for West Coast with a last-gasp goal in the dying seconds to secure victory over GWS.

The dreadlocked ruckman hasn’t missed a beat after a layoff with foot surgery with 16 disposals and 45 hit outs against the Giants. Ben McEvoy and Jonathon Ceglar will need to play well in the ruck to combat his influence.
