HAWTHORN forward Cyril Rioli has been charged with engaging in rough conduct against Melbourne’s Clayton Oliver.
Rioli was sighted by the AFL’s Match Review Panel for his bump on Oliver in the first quarter of Saturday’s match at the MCG.
The Match Review Panel deemed the incident as careless conduct with low impact to the body, based on the medical report from the Demons and available video evidence.
The incident was classified as a $1500 sanction, with Rioli having no applicable record which impacts the penalty.
An early plea enables Rioli to accept a $1000 sanction.
Unfortunately, fellow forward James Sicily wasn’t quite as lucky as his teammate.
Sicily has been charged with striking Bernie Vince in the second quarter and can accept a one-match sanction with an early plea.
Sam Mitchell’s contact with Jack Watts from the third quarter was also assessed but no further action was taken.
