CYRIL Rioli says a fired up West Coast Eagles team and an intimidating crowd hold no fears as they travel to Perth to take on the Eagles this week.

Speaking to the media at the Ricoh Centre at Waverley today, Rioli said the Hawks are well prepared for the Friday night clash.

“They’re definitely a big threat, especially playing over there on their home deck, it’s going to be a pretty hostile environment and we’ve got to be on edge,” Rioli said.

“It’s going to be loud but we’re prepared for it.”

“We’re one game clear on top (of the ladder) but we still need to continue our form and keep winning.”

The four-time premiership player has made a habit of saving some of his best performances for the Eagles, having kicked four goals from 20 disposals against them in Round 2 this year to go with a best on ground performance in last year’s Grand Final.

“I just go out there and try to play my game every week – fortunately I’ve had a couple of good games against them,” he said.

Rioli is having a terrific season for the Hawks, having kicked 41 goals already in 2016, just one goal short of his career best 42-goal season last year.

The 2015 Norm Smith Medallist said he was able to complete a good pre-season over which has been a big factor in his performances and durability in 2016.

“I’ve definitely looked after myself the last couple of years and the preseason has really set my season up.”

Eagle Nic Naitanui looms as a key player for the West Coast, but Rioli said he is confident the combination of Jonathon Ceglar and Ben McEvoy could combat the mercurial ruckman.

“We’ve got some quality rucks and they’ve done some really good jobs in the past few games against the opposition ruckman so I think they’ll be trying to do that again this week,” Rioli said.

“(Naitanui) is a very good player, around the ground and especially in the ruck, so the big boys will be doing everything they can to try and stop what he wants to do.”
