MILESTONE man Sam Mitchell produced another outstanding performance in his 300th game against Richmond, and the Hawthorn star has again been selected in the AFL's Team of the Week for round 18, brought to you by Accor Hotels.
Mitchell was everywhere in the Hawks' 70-point thrashing of the Tigers at the MCG, while teammates Josh Gibson, Jack Gunston and Bradley Hill also dominated for the ladder leaders, giving them the most representatives of any side this week, along with St Kilda.
Saints skipper Nick Riewoldt was brilliant in his side's upset win over the Western Bulldogs, with Jack Steven, Tom Hickey and veteran defender Sean Dempster also very good at Etihad Stadium.
Greater Western Sydney's 12th victory of the season over Port Adelaide broke the club record, with onballers Stephen Coniglio and Josh Kelly, plus exciting backman Nick Haynes sensational in Adelaide.
Geelong, North Melbourne and Gold Coast have two players in this week's 22, while the Sydney Swans, Carlton, the Brisbane Lions, West Coast and the Power have solo representatives.
SEAN DEMPSTER (St Kilda) – The reliable defender used all his experience to constantly shut down the Bulldogs' forward thrusts, had 23 disposals and also took 10 marks.
JOSH GIBSON (Hawthorn) – Controlled things from the back half against Richmond with 31 possessions and 12 marks, and also booted a goal for the winners.
COREY ENRIGHT (Geelong) – The 34-year-old showed he's still one of the League's best defenders, with 31 possessions and nine rebound 50s against the Crows.
DANIEL RICH (Brisbane Lions) – Used his kicking ability superbly against the Bombers across half-back, and finished with 27 touches, nine rebound 50s, seven inside 50s and a goal.
STEVEN MAY (Gold Coast) – The powerful backman took 13 marks and had 14 one-percenters against Fremantle, and finished the day with 24 touches.
NICK HAYNES (Greater Western Sydney) – In tough conditions against the Power, the young Giant was all class in defence and was one of the best on ground with 25 possessions.
JOSH KELLY (Greater Western Sydney) – Starting to live up to the promise he's shown in patches. Kelly had 30 possessions against Port, 15 of those contested, five tackles and six inside 50s.
SAM MITCHELL (Hawthorn) – Celebrated his milestone game in style with 38 touches at 84 per cent efficiency, nine clearances and five inside 50s.
DANIEL WELLS (North Melbourne) – Overcame a pre-game fitness scare to gather 29 touches, six clearances and five inside 50s in the Kangaroos' win over Collingwood.
BRAD EBERT (Port Adelaide) – Overcame a bad head wound to try inspire the Power, but his four goals from 19 possessions, 14 of them contested, wasn't enough.
NICK RIEWOLDT (St Kilda) – Maintained his dominance over the Dogs with another quality display all over the ground, finishing with four goals from 10 marks and 19 touches.
DANIEL MENZEL (Geelong) – The clever forward was vital in the Cats' important with over Adelaide with four crucial goals from 17 possessions.
LINDSAY THOMAS (North Melbourne) – The small forward played his role to perfection against the Magpies, booting five goals and constantly getting under the skin of the opposition.
SAM DAY (Gold Coast) – Showed some exciting signs playing inside 50 for the Suns, with the regular defender plucking nine marks and booting four goals against the Dockers.
JACK GUNSTON (Hawthorn) – The athletic forward was unstoppable against the Tigers, finishing the day with 3.3, 10 marks and 22 disposals.
TOM HICKEY (St Kilda) – The emerging big man was too good for Jordan Roughead and Tom Boyd, and had 34 hit-outs and four clearances for the night.
JOSH KENNEDY (Sydney Swans) – Thrived in a tough scrap at the SCG with 35 possessions against Carlton, 23 of them contested, 12 clearances, six tackles and a goal.
JACK STEVEN (St Kilda) – Another 39 possessions for the speedster and 26 of them came before half-time. Steven also laid seven tackles, had six clearances and kicked a goal.
PATRICK CRIPPS (Carlton) – The young Blue took it right up to the Swans' star-studded midfield, having 32 touches, 22 of those contested, 11 clearances and 13 tackles.
STEPHEN CONIGLIO (Greater Western Sydney) – Sparked the Giants' revival with a brilliant third term, and finished the gutsy win with 28 possessions, 20 of them contested, six clearances, five tackles and a goal.
BRADLEY HILL (Hawthorn) – Has worked his way out of a form slump over the past fortnight but had 632 metres gained against Richmond, as well as 31 disposals and seven inside 50s.
MATT PRIDDIS (West Coast) – The Brownlow medallist laid 15 tackles for the Eagles in Perth, and had 24 possessions, 17 of them contested, as well as seven clearances against Melbourne.
