Hawthorn Football Club, in conjunction with adidas, are proud to be supporting Tasmanians affected by cancer with the release of a special event Pink Guernsey.
The Pink Guernsey will be worn by Hawks players in the club’s annual Pink Ribbon Game against Gold Coast SUNS in Round 14 later this month at Aurora Stadium in Tasmania.
Cancer Council Tasmania CEO, Penny Egan, is delighted that the club has extended their support in 2016 to include a match-worn Pink Guernsey.
“It has been a great relationship between Hawthorn Football Club and Cancer Council Tasmania, not only for the continued support, but the awareness that’s being raised about cancer in the community.”
“You can never stop raising awareness about cancer. Eight Tasmanians a day are diagnosed, but the impact of that cancer diagnosis affects many more people. So to work with Hawthorn Football Club to keep raising that awareness is a great outcome,” said Penny.
As well as the Pink Guernsey, HawksNest are exclusively selling other pink merchandise to support Cancer Council Tasmania, including a scarf and a polar fleece throw, plus a beanie and scarf made from Australian Merino Wool. Ten per cent of proceeds from these items, including the Pink Guernsey, will be donated to Cancer Council Tasmania.
