Hawthorn is excited to be hosting four games at its home ground of UTAS in Launceston for the 2020 season.
The Hawks have an illustrious history in Tasmania, having won 49 of the 64 games they’ve played there since their inaugural game in 2001, making it a 76% win rate for Hawthorn at UTAS.
The first of the four Launceston games will be a special Anzac Day match against West Coast with a traditional afternoon timeslot.
It will be the first time in nearly six years that the Eagles will travel down to Tassie having not played in the south since 2014.
Tasmanians will also be looking forward to welcoming South Australian fans for both Rounds 10 and 21, when the Hawks are set to face Port Adelaide and Adelaide respectively.
Almost a decade has passed since the Crows have visited Launceston, with the Round 21 match becoming the fifth time that Adelaide has travelled to Launceston in the history of the club.
A highlight of the season for local fans will be when the Hawks face fellow Tasmanian team North Melbourne.
The Round 17 match against the Roos will highlight the friendly rivalry between the north and south and will make it the eighth time Hawthorn have played North at Launceston since 2006.
Hawthorn are happy to be continuing its relationship with Tasmania and are eager for its return to its Launceston home in 2020.
