The Hawks are preparing to meet the Dees under Friday night lights as they wrap up their Marsh Community Series campaign.
Details:
WHO: Hawthorn v Melbourne
WHAT: Round 2, Marsh Community Series
WHEN: 7.40pm, Friday 6 March
WHERE: UTAS Stadium, Launceston
BROADCAST: FOX FOOTY
Last time we met:
The clash will mark the first time these two sides have met since Round 7 last year.
That Saturday afternoon finished in disappointment for the Hawks, as Simon Goodwin’s men held on to a five-point margin at the final siren.
While Hawthorn was heavily reliant on Luke Breust (4.0) and Jack Gunston (3.1) in front of goal, the Demons had a spread of 10 goalkickers helping seal victory.
James Harmes took home the three Brownlow votes for his 31 disposal, one goal performance, while Gunston (2 votes) was considered the Hawks’ best.

Opposition analysis:
The Demons were clinical in their opening Marsh clash, doing away with the Crows by 33 points.
Christian Petracca has earmarked himself as one to watch in the 2020 season, with the forward putting together an impressive three-goal, 38 disposal, 644 metres gained performance.
He was ably assisted by Mitch Brown (three goals) up forward, while Clayton Oliver (31 disposals, 11 tackles) was also busy through the middle.
Melbourne also played an inter-club practice match at Arden Street last week, defeating North Melbourne by 20 points.
It was an unexpected result, given the Demons fielded eight players from VFL affiliate Casey.
The only downfall of Melbourne’s result was its inaccuracy in front of goal; the Dees missed 13 of their 20 scoring shots.
While it is unclear what kind of Demons outfit the Hawks will meet on Friday night, it is likely to include new Captain Max Gawn and defender Steven May, both of whom are yet to be seen this pre-season.
Teams will be revealed via club channels at 6pm this Thursday.
